GLA & Co Advises Cognita on Strategic Acquisition of EduReach’s Qatar Operations
GLA & Company is pleased to announce its role as Qatar local counsel to Cognita Schools Limited in connection with its strategic partnership with EduReach group, marking Cognita’s entry into three new Middle Eastern markets: the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, and the State of Qatar.
Through this transaction, Cognita adds five premium schools across the three jurisdictions to its global network, including King’s College Doha in Qatar. The school, previously operated by EduReach, now forms part of Cognita’s worldwide portfolio of over 100 schools across 20 countries, educating more than 100,000 students. With this acquisition, Cognita expands its Middle East presence to 14 schools, building on an established foundation in the UAE and Kuwait.
Commenting on the transaction, Managing Partner Alex Saleh stated:
“This transaction further underscores GLA’s growing role in supporting transformative education projects across the region. Earlier this year, we also advised on the establishment of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at Abdullah Al-Salem University in collaboration with King’s College London — another milestone deal in Kuwait’s education sector. We are proud to bring this breadth of experience to Cognita’s expansion into Qatar and to continue contributing to the growth of world-class education opportunities across the Middle East.”
This transaction, led by Partner and Head of Doha office, Dean Jaloudi, along with associates, Jehan Saleh and Farida Koura, underscores GLA & Company’s growing reputation as a trusted advisor on complex, cross-border education and corporate transactions in the region.
