Salma Farouq is an associate at GLA & Company in the Corporate Commercial Department. Her expertise spans a diverse spectrum, primarily focusing on Mergers and Acquisitions (M&As) and Commercial Advisory. She has been regularly involved in several transactional and advisory works in various industries including telecommunication, banking, food, health care, and education. Salma’s experience includes conducting extensive due diligence exercises primarily in Kuwait and the UAE in relation to complex transactions, as well as drafting a wide range of transaction arrangements in addition to distribution and agency arrangements. She has also delivered legal advice pertaining to merger control filings and data protection matters.
Prior to joining GLA & Company, Salma was an in-house lawyer at PepsiCo Egypt for almost three years, after that, she joined a top-tier law firm in Egypt, where she provided legal support for both national and international clients.

- Supported Sellers Bait Al Aseel and Mr. Bashar Al Ameer in the sale of 35% of their stake in Gissah Perfumes Company –
- Supported Cognita Middle East OPCO Holdings Limited (UAE) in acquiring 67% of Universe Educational K.S.C.C –
- Supported one of the largest telecommunications companies, overseeing the initial due diligence process for the acquisition bid for a multinational telecommunications company’s tower assets – Kuwait.
- Supported a Kuwaiti leasing and investment company in their acquisition of 30% equity shares in a local F&B company – Kuwait.
- Supported a Kuwaiti venture capital firm in relation to the subscription for Class A preferred in a company in the Dubai International Financial Centre – UAE.
