Over the last few years, the two hottest new practice areas in the Middle East have become Data Privacy & Protection on the one hand and Merger Control in the context of Competition Law on the other.  To that end, GLA & Company has quickly become a leader in both areas across all key Arab Civil Law jurisdictions.

With this background, GLA & Co is once again partnering up with Chambers & Partners to produce the Global Practice Guides for both Data Protection & Privacy 2023 and Merger Control 2023 in the key GCC and MENA states.  In addition to providing the law, regulations and movement of the regulatory bodies in these two fields, we will also be discussing our local expertise built up in these Arabic-speaking jurisdictions.  The goal is to assist local, regional and international clients in maneuvering through these new and important regulations that have been enacted over the past several years.

In 2022, GLA & Co published the Merger Control Guides in the key jurisdictions of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Qatar.
