Breaking News: Kuwait’s Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (“CITRA”) repeals its Data Classification Policy under Decision 34/2024, and issues a new set of Data Privacy Protection Regulations under Decision 26/2024 to repeal the previously issued Data Privacy Protection Regulations under Decision 42/2021. CITRA has cited that these decisions were issued in response to the growing need for robust data protection frameworks amidst increasing demand for telecom and IT services in Kuwait, and in aligning with Kuwait’s vision for progress in the New Kuwait 2035 plan.
