GLA advises Emerson in merger control clearance in $14 billion sale to Blackstone
GLA & Co is pleased to announce that it has advised Emerson as co-counsel with Davis Polk & Wardell with respect to securing merger control clearance with the Kuwait Competition Agency on the mega-deal involving the sale of a majority stake in Emerson’s Climate Technologies business. The transaction was valued at $14 billion. GLA’s team members on the transaction included Asad Ahmad, Maha El Meihy and Fahad Al Baijan.
The new standalone business will be named Copeland – building on the brand’s 100-year legacy, global recognition and influence across the HVACR industry. As a standalone company focused on serving the global HVACR market, Copeland’s product portfolio includes market-leading compressors, controls, thermostats, valves, software and monitoring solutions for residential, commercial and industrial customers.
